Stanley
Franklin, known to some as Data or Ron is this month’s member spotlight. He has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. One
of which enjoys riding on the motorcycle with his granddad. He joined ABATE in January of this year at the urging of his brother
Jack. Shortly thereafter he began developing the first website for ABATE of Georgia District 1. He commits many hours weekly
to updating and maintaining this site. And of course he keeps us all up to date on news, events and activities via e-mail.
Thanks to Stanley for all he does. : Melissa

This months “Spot-light”
member is Stanley Franklin. Stanley is a fairly new member of ABATE District 1 Georgia, but is already making an impact on
the organization, which is apparent by his selection as member of the month. Stanley is instrumental in “visible”
as well as behind the scenes logistical work, providing and maintaining the ABATE D1 website, as well as member databases
for contact and communications purposes. He has been instrumental in other outside activities concerning Veterans, the needy,
Alzheimer’s sufferers, and children in the community. His sent email volumes get a little heavy at times, but by-golly,
if you check you email, you won’t miss any important info. I suppose that’s why he’s been tagged with the
road name “Data”. Where’d the “Ron” come from? Anyway, Stanley is a Veteran American Legion
member, having served both in the US Air Force and Army. He has arranged on several occasions for assistance and facilities
for ABATE from the Legion. One of the best things, in my own opinion, is that I’ve finally been successful at getting
him off the Honda and on a Harley. I can say these things about Stanley because he’s my little brother. I call him “Phil”.
All his life he’s been a bit outspoken, but at the same time a caring and good guy, and believe me, I know. He’s
not always been just my kid brother, he’s also always been my friend, and had an interest is proper and efficient “arrangement”
of things in general. “Helping others” is, and has been an integral part of “who he is”. Congratulations Stanley. :
Hi Jack
I would like to say a few
words about a man by the name of Stanley Franklin. Well let’s start off by asking who is Stanley Franklin? Stanley is
a man that is devoted to his country and countrymen. Always going the distance for his fellow soldiers present and past. Every
time I talk with Stanley about our troops his words and actions are in the highest regards. And if you ask who is Stanley
really is well words can't hold a candle to the great person and the great things that he is and does. He is a pillar of humanity
in this town offering services to everyone in search of housing, tax services, and a shoulder to cry on when life has got
you down. I can say these things because I am one of those he has lent his hand out to, and helped me up from the dark part
of my life. Stanley is neither my boss nor my friend he is FAMILIY! He has treated me as if I was one of his own children
and he has been a father to me when I haven't had a father. He once told me "if you can help just one person in this
world then you have done your job for this life." And Stanley has done his job many tines over. Here to you Stanley.
I love ya man! : Scott
